Odisha Sets Up Control Centre for Pravasi Bharatiya Divas
The Odisha government has established a central command control centre to ensure seamless coordination and assistance for attendees of the three-day Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD), scheduled to begin on January 8.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the facility aims to provide information and support to the approximately 7,000 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) expected to participate in the event.
The control centre is equipped with an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system and can be reached by dialing the dedicated helpline number 1929. Attendees can use this service to resolve event-related queries and seek assistance throughout the program.
To ensure smooth operations, personnel from various government departments will be deployed at the centre, reinforcing the state’s commitment to hosting a successful and welcoming event for its overseas guests.
Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is an annual celebration that acknowledges the contributions of the Indian diaspora worldwide and provides a platform to foster engagement between the government and expatriates. This year’s event in Odisha is expected to attract significant participation and showcase the state’s hospitality and cultural heritage.
