Children Rescued from Janshatabdi Express at Bhadrak

A group of children were rescued from the Janshatabdi Express at Bhadrak railway station following a swift intervention by child welfare authorities, officials said.

According to Subhashree Padhihari, coordinator of the district Child Line, the rescue operation was carried out after officials received information about the children travelling under suspicious circumstances.

“We boarded the Janshatabdi Express at Bhadrak station and rescued them,” Padhihari said.

The children were safely taken off the train and are currently under the care of child protection authorities. Preliminary inquiries are underway to determine their identities, background and the circumstances under which they were travelling.

Officials said further investigation is in progress, and necessary steps will be taken to ensure the safety and rehabilitation of the rescued children.
