Odisha Police Bust International Cyber Fraud Racket, 9 Arrested in Rourkela
In a major breakthrough, Odisha Police on Tuesday busted an international cyber fraud racket operating from Rourkela and arrested nine individuals allegedly involved in the scam.

According to a senior police official, the arrests were made during a late-evening operation and included individuals from various parts of Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand. The police have also seized ₹1.41 crore frozen across 23 different bank accounts linked to the racket.

Those arrested have been identified as Kishan Agarwal (26), Kunal Agarwal (25), Girdhar Singh (24), Ajay Kumar (25), Sandeep Kumar Soni (28), Soumendra Singh Rajput (27), Abhijit Bhardwaj (27), Dinesh Kumar Sahu (25)—all hailing from Chhattisgarh—and Arjun Singh (27) from Uttarakhand.

Police officials said the accused were allegedly involved in duping individuals by orchestrating online scams through fake investment schemes and phishing attacks, with suspected international connections currently under investigation.

Authorities are now coordinating with cyber crime units in other states and seeking cooperation from financial institutions to trace the full extent of the racket. More arrests and revelations are expected as the investigation unfolds.
