Odisha Aims to Plant 75 Lakh Saplings on PM Modi’s 75th Birthday

The Odisha government on Wednesday marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday with a massive plantation drive, planting over 32.85 lakh saplings across the state by noon.

The state has set a target to plant 75 lakh saplings between sunrise and sunset on September 17 to commemorate the Prime Minister’s milestone birthday.

A forest department official said the drive is being carried out under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign-2. “Pictures and videos of plantations are being uploaded on the ‘Meri LiFE’ portal, making it easier to track progress. Participants are encouraged to share photos of their plantation activities on the portal,” the official added.

The initiative aims to boost environmental conservation while symbolically linking it with the Prime Minister’s vision for sustainable living.
