IndiGo Appoints Amitabh Kant as Additional Director After Security Nod

IndiGo on Wednesday announced the appointment of Amitabh Kant as an additional director on its board, effective September 15, following security clearance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The airline, in a regulatory filing, said, “The company has received the requisite security clearance dated September 15, 2025, from MoCA yesterday. Accordingly, Kant’s appointment shall be effective from September 15, 2025.”

IndiGo had earlier, on July 3, announced the appointment of Kant, who is a former CEO of NITI Aayog and India’s G20 Sherpa.

The induction of Kant is expected to strengthen IndiGo’s strategic leadership as the airline continues its growth in both domestic and international markets.
