Odisha on High Alert After Delhi Blast; CM Majhi Directs DGP to Strengthen Security at Cuttack Bali Jatra
In the wake of the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that claimed at least eight lives and left 24 injured, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday placed the state on high alert and directed the police to intensify security arrangements, particularly at the ongoing Bali Jatra festival in Cuttack.

The Chief Minister reviewed the security situation and instructed Director General of Police (DGP) to ensure round-the-clock surveillance, crowd management, and deployment of additional forces at major public gatherings and sensitive locations across the state.

“I strongly condemn the incident. India has never tolerated such inhumane acts, and nor will it,” CM Majhi said, expressing solidarity with the victims and their families.

Sources in the Home Department said that security personnel have been put on heightened alert at airports, railway stations, temples, and major tourist sites. Special attention is being given to the Bali Jatra, which draws lakhs of visitors every day.

Senior officers of the Cuttack Police Commissionerate have been instructed to coordinate with intelligence agencies to monitor potential threats and ensure the smooth conduct of the historic trade fair.

The state government has also urged citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

Security arrangements across Odisha have been intensified as investigations continue into the Delhi blast.
