TPCODL Restores Power Swiftly After Kalbaisakhi Storm Disruptions in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack
Bhubaneswar, May 2, 2026: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) successfully carried out prompt restoration of power supply in parts of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack following power disruptions caused by Kalbaisakhi rains and heavy winds that struck the region in the late afternoon and evening today.

The storm, accompanied by wind speeds of up to 48.5 kmph, led to temporary interruptions in several areas due to falling tree branches, banners, hoardings and other objects coming in contact with power lines.
Responding swiftly, TPCODL deployed emergency response teams, field personnel and project team across affected locations. Through coordinated restoration efforts, all 33 KV feeders were restored by 7:00 PM, while all 11 KV feeders were normalised by 9:00 PM.
TPCODL teams, including linesmen and maintenance staff, worked continuously on the ground to remove obstructions and restore supply in the shortest possible time while ensuring safety protocols.
