Odisha Mass Wedding Scheme Benefits 201 Couples

201 Couples Wed as Odisha Govt Launches Mass Marriage Scheme
A total of 201 couples tied the knot on Tuesday as Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana’, a flagship scheme aimed at supporting mass marriages for women from economically weaker families.
The event took place near the renowned Maa Taratarini temple in Purusottampur village, Ganjam district, bringing together hundreds of families to witness the celebrations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Minister Majhi said the initiative was designed to ease the financial burden on poor families in conducting marriages and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting the dignity of women.
The scheme is part of Odisha’s broader effort to promote social welfare and provide support to underprivileged communities, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder important life events like marriage.
