Odisha Governor, CM Condole Veteran Actor Manoj Kumar’s Demise

Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik have expressed their condolences on the passing of veteran actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar. The legendary Bollywood star, known for his patriotic roles, passed away at the age of 87 in a Mumbai hospital early Friday.

Governor Kambhampati took to social media to pay tribute to the late actor, highlighting his immense contribution to Indian cinema. “Hon’ble Governor Shri @DrHariBabuK is saddened to learn of the passing of legendary Hindi film actor #ManojKumar. His vast contribution to Indian cinema, his iconic performances & powerful portrayals of patriotism will forever remain etched in the hearts of his fans,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik also mourned the loss of the cinematic legend, recalling his impactful films that left a lasting impression on audiences across generations.

Manoj Kumar, known for classics like Upkar, Purab Aur Paschim, and Kranti, was a recipient of the Padma Shri and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s highest honor in cinema. His portrayal of patriotism on screen earned him the nickname “Bharat Kumar.”

As tributes pour in from across the country, fans and film industry stalwarts remember him as a symbol of cinematic excellence and national pride.
