TPCODL Commissions New 33 kV Feeder

TPCODL Commissions New 33 kV Sarpeswar Feeder to Enhance Power Supply
In a significant step towards strengthening electricity infrastructure, the TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) has successfully commissioned a new 33 kV feeder, extending 5.4 km from Cuttack Brajabiharipur OPTCL Grid to Nuapatna. This initiative is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted and efficient power supply to over 30,000 consumers across Sarpeswar, Khuntuni, Athgarh, and Gurudijhatia primary substations.
With the commissioning of this feeder, TPCODL has addressed persistent voltage fluctuation issues and enhanced power stability for rural consumers and various industrial establishments in the region. The development comes at a crucial time, as demand for electricity surges during the summer months.
Overcoming Challenges for Reliable Power Supply
The construction of this vital infrastructure project was met with numerous challenges, especially in crossing the Mahanadi River. Of the total 5.4 km feeder length, 2.6 km was built along one side of the Madhusudan Bridge under difficult conditions. Special arrangements were made to navigate these complexities, including the deployment of a dedicated boat for construction work and stringent safety measures for workers.
A spokesperson from TPCODL highlighted the company’s commitment to enhancing electricity distribution. “Ensuring a stable and reliable power supply to our consumers is our top priority. The successful execution of this project is a testament to our continuous efforts in strengthening the power infrastructure in Odisha,” they stated.
Boosting Infrastructure Amid Rising Demand
As power demand continues to escalate during peak summer months, TPCODL remains focused on reinforcing its distribution network. The operationalization of the Sarpeswar feeder is a major step in this direction, significantly improving voltage regulation and reducing the risk of power outages.
With its commitment to leveraging modern technology and ensuring seamless electricity supply, TPCODL continues to undertake strategic initiatives aimed at transforming the power distribution landscape in Odisha.
