Odisha Launches ‘Aasa School Jiba’ Campaign to Prevent Dropouts

Bhubaneswar : The Odisha School and Mass Education Department has rolled out a state-wide campaign titled “Aasa School Jiba” (Let us go to school) to tackle the issue of school dropouts during the 2025–26 academic year.

As part of the initiative, special meetings were conducted across the state involving parents, teachers, and School Management & Development Committees (SMDCs). The sessions focused on identifying and reintegrating out-of-school children into the mainstream education system, ensuring their enrollment in age-appropriate classes, and preventing further dropouts.

Discussions also highlighted preventive strategies to address challenges that obstruct children’s education. During these meetings, parents collectively took a “Group Pledge” to support schools, ensure that no child is left behind, and contribute towards creating a safe, inclusive, and joyful learning environment that safeguards every child’s right to education.

Senior officials of the School and Mass Education Department monitored the campaign’s progress at the district level, providing guidance and extending necessary support to strengthen the effort.

The department emphasized that “Aasa School Jiba” is not just a campaign, but a collective movement to ensure every child in Odisha receives uninterrupted education.
