Odisha Pays Rich Tributes to Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das on Birth Anniversary

Odisha on Thursday paid homage to ‘Utkalmani’ Gopabandhu Das, the eminent social worker, reformer, journalist, and freedom fighter, on his birth anniversary.

Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, in a post on X, expressed his reverence, saying, “On the birth anniversary of Utkalmani Pandit #Gopabandhudas, I offer devout tributes. His contributions to the freedom struggle, selfless service, and efforts to enrich the Odia language and literature will make him ever memorable.”

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, along with several eminent personalities, paid floral tributes at Gopabandhu’s statue at the state Assembly premises in Bhubaneswar.

The day was marked by solemn ceremonies honoring Gopabandhu Das’s enduring legacy in Odisha’s social, political, and cultural life, celebrating his lifelong dedication to the service of the people and the promotion of Odia heritage.
