Odisha Hikes Allowance for Folk Artistes

Odisha Govt Raises Allowance for Traditional Artistes
The Odisha government has increased the monthly allowance for folk and traditional art performers under the Mukhyamantri Kalakar Sahayata Yojana.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi during the inauguration of the 48th state-level ‘Pala’ conference held in Keonjhar on Sunday evening.
Under the revised scheme, traditional art performers, including those involved in the ‘Pala’ play and aged between 40 and 80 years, will now receive ₹3,000 per month, up from the earlier ₹2,000 monthly assistance.
This move is seen as a significant step by the state government to support and encourage folk artistes and preserve Odisha’s rich cultural heritage.
The CM emphasized the importance of traditional art forms and assured that the government would continue efforts to provide better opportunities and support to artists across the state.
