Over 3,200 Candidates Compete for 102 Home Guard Posts in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

A staggering 3,200 candidates, including graduates and post-graduates, appeared for 102 home guard posts in Odisha’s Jharsuguda on Sunday, officials said.

The recruitment drive comes days after a video went viral showing thousands of young aspirants appearing for the home guard written examination at an airstrip in Sambalpur.

Out of 4,040 applicants, more than 3,200 candidates took the test for these temporary positions under the Odisha Police, highlighting the growing competition and popularity of home guard posts among the youth.

Officials said the large turnout reflects the increasing interest of young job seekers in serving the state while securing temporary employment opportunities.
