Odisha Govt to Set Up EV Charging Stations at 100 Locations

The Odisha government has announced plans to establish electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at 100 locations across the state in the first phase, Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena informed the assembly on Thursday.
As part of the initiative, 21 charging stations will be set up in Bhubaneswar, 38 at various regional transport offices (RTOs), 23 in truck terminals, and 18 in other strategic locations. This move aims to promote eco-friendly transportation and encourage the adoption of electric vehicles across Odisha.
The government’s decision aligns with its commitment to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing EV infrastructure, making electric mobility more accessible for the public. Authorities are also exploring further expansion of charging networks in the coming phases.
The initiative is expected to boost the state’s green energy transition and provide EV users with better accessibility to charging facilities.
