Odisha Govt to Release September Salary Early for Employees Ahead of Festivities

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed officials to release the September salary of state government employees in advance on September 26, considering the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations.

Typically, government salaries are credited at the end of the month. However, with offices scheduled to remain closed from September 27 due to the extended Puja holidays, the state government decided to prepone the disbursal.

According to an official statement, the move will help employees manage festive expenses, meet household requirements, and make timely purchases.

The government also linked the step to the recently launched “Savings Festival” following the implementation of GST 2.0 reforms, encouraging employees to participate actively in the nationwide initiative.
