The Odisha government took a significant step towards providing affordable housing by distributing allotment letters to 116 beneficiaries under its Affordable Housing Project (AHP) for slum dwellers.

State Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra handed over the letters at a special function held in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

The initiative aims to improve living standards for urban poor by providing access to affordable and secure housing. Of the total beneficiaries, 47 received allotment letters for Chandrasekharpur AHP, 36 for Nilamadhab Awas AHP, and 28 for Barunei Enclave AHP in Subudhipur.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Mahapatra reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring housing for all and highlighted the positive impact of such projects on urban development.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government, citing the scheme as a transformative step in their journey towards a better quality of life.
