Early Warning System Crucial for Disaster Management: Odisha Minister

Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari emphasized the importance of a robust early warning system in effectively managing disasters. Speaking at a consultation event with United Nations India and Reliance Foundation on Tuesday, Pujari highlighted that timely and accurate warnings can significantly enhance the government’s ability to mitigate the impact of natural calamities.
“Once the early warning system becomes perfect, handling and mitigating disasters will become more manageable,” he said.
The minister acknowledged Odisha’s commendable track record in disaster response but stressed the need for continuous improvement and a collective approach. The state plans to conduct further consultations with stakeholders to refine its disaster management strategies.
The event underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing preparedness and resilience in the face of increasing natural disasters.
