Odisha FC Set for Super Cup Showdown

Odisha FC Gear Up for Kalinga Super Cup Clash Against Punjab FC

After a rollercoaster ISL 2024–25 campaign, Odisha FC are set to hit the reset button as they open their Kalinga Super Cup 2025 campaign against Punjab FC at home on Monday. The clash, to be held at the iconic Kalinga Stadium, marks the start of Odisha’s hunt for redemption and silverware on familiar turf.

The Kalinga Warriors, under the guidance of head coach Sergio Lobera, have announced their full squad for the fifth edition of the tournament. With the pain of last season’s final loss still fresh, Lobera sees this year’s tournament as a chance to make amends.

“Last season was very painful for us, losing the final at the last moment,” said Lobera during the pre-match press conference. “Football and life sometimes give you second opportunities, and we want to take advantage of this. Tomorrow will be the start of this competition, and we are ready for the challenge.”

Odisha FC and Punjab FC have developed a budding rivalry over recent years. In their last four meetings, Odisha have the edge with two wins, while Punjab managed one victory and one draw. Monday’s match promises another intense chapter in this growing rivalry.

Star goalkeeper Amrinder Singh, who missed the previous edition due to national team duties, is back in the squad and ready to contribute. “I’m very happy to be part of the tournament this year and help the team,” Amrinder said. “Everyone is excited for the Kalinga Super Cup and we are ready for the challenge.”
