Jaishankar underscored Odisha’s immense potential in the 3Ts—trade, technology, and tourism—positioning the state as a premier investment destination during his address at the Pravasi Bharatiya Business Leaders’ meeting on the sidelines of the 25th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.

Highlighting the Modi government’s commitment to Mission Purvodaya, Jaishankar lauded Odisha’s pivotal role in the initiative. “India’s global rise is deeply connected to its diaspora, which serves as a vital pathway for globalization and international partnerships,” he said, emphasizing that global collaboration has been the cornerstone of any nation’s growth.

Odisha’s Historical and Modern Significance

Jaishankar spotlighted Odisha’s historical connection to Southeast Asia through the Bali Yatra, likening it to the state’s modern contributions to India’s Look East Policy. He cited recent discussions in Singapore, where topics such as Green Shipping Corridors and value-added resources underscored Odisha’s growing global relevance.

Potential in Trade, Technology, and Tourism

On trade, Jaishankar noted Odisha’s immense potential in traditional shipping, power grids, and value-added resources, making it a hub for commerce and industrial growth.

Discussing technology, he praised Odisha’s talented youth, strong educational infrastructure, and innovative spirit as key assets for tech collaborations.

In tourism, the Minister called Odisha a treasure trove of opportunities, stating, “Tourism is not just an aesthetic experience but a major investment avenue and a top global employment generator.” He urged investors to tap into the state’s tourism sector to foster inclusive growth.
