BJP MP Pradeep Panigrahy acquitted again

BJP MP Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy Acquitted in Three More Cheating Cases

Berhampur – BJP Member of Parliament from Berhampur, Pradeep Kumar Panigrahy, was acquitted in three additional cheating cases by a special court in Ganjam district on Wednesday. The acquittal was granted due to the lack of sufficient evidence.

These three cases were part of a total of five cases registered against Panigrahy at the Baidyanathpur and Golanthara police stations between 2020 and 2022, when he was serving as a local MLA with the BJD. The cases involved allegations that Panigrahy had taken money in exchange for providing government jobs.

Earlier this week, Panigrahy was acquitted in two of the cases. With today’s acquittal, the special MP/MLA court has cleared him in all five cases. His counsel, Deepak Patnaik, confirmed the verdict.

Panigrahy’s legal team maintained that the allegations lacked evidence to support the claims, leading to the court’s decision to acquit him in all instances.

The ruling has stirred discussions, with supporters of Panigrahy hailing the judgment, while critics have raised questions regarding the handling of such cases.
