Garment unit inaugurated in Khurda, 7,050 jobs

Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain on Wednesday inaugurated a garment manufacturing unit in Khurda, expected to generate employment for around 7,050 people.

The facility, spread over 40 acres, has been set up by Epic Group, marking a significant boost to the state’s textiles and apparel sector.

Addressing the event, Swain said the investment reflects growing global confidence in Odisha’s industrial growth story and its improving business ecosystem.

The unit is expected to strengthen the state’s manufacturing base, create large-scale employment opportunities, and contribute to economic development in the region.

Officials said the project aligns with the government’s efforts to attract investments and promote industrialisation, particularly in labour-intensive sectors like textiles and apparel.
