Odisha CM Slams Congress for Alliance with NC, Calls Party “Power-Hungry”
Odisha CM Criticizes Congress for Alliance with National Conference Ahead of J&K Polls, Calls Party “Hungry for Power”
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched a scathing attack on the Congress for forming an alliance with the National Conference (NC) ahead of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Majhi accused the Congress of being “hungry for power” and questioned its commitment to national integrity.
In a video message, Majhi sought clarification from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on whether his party supports the National Conference’s controversial stance on a separate flag for Jammu and Kashmir. He further criticized the Congress for allegedly promoting unrest in the region by aligning with a party that has, in the past, advocated for separatist sentiments.
“Does the Congress support any unrest in Jammu and Kashmir by increasing terrorist activities once again? Will the Congress have the support to promote separatists by talking to the arch-enemy Pakistan, instead of establishing peace by talking to the people of Jammu and Kashmir?” Majhi asked Gandhi.
Majhi’s remarks come at a time of heightened political activity in Jammu and Kashmir, with the assembly polls approaching and various parties strategizing their alliances. The Odisha CM’s comments have added fuel to the ongoing debate over the Congress-NC partnership and its implications for the region’s stability.
The Congress has yet to respond to Majhi’s sharp criticism, but the comments are expected to stir further political controversy as the election campaigns intensify.
