Odisha CM, LoP to Visit Districts After Farmer Deaths Linked to Crop Loss
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik will separately visit districts to assess the condition of farmers after reports of four deaths allegedly linked to crop loss in the past eight days.
The opposition BJD claims that unseasonal rain caused significant crop loss, leading to the unnatural deaths of farmers in Ganjam, Puri, Kendrapara, and Jajpur districts.
BJD spokesperson Lelin Mohanty criticized the government for its inaction, stating, “Farmers are suffering as the government remains insensitive to their plight. Immediate support is needed to prevent further despair.”
The visits aim to bring attention to the farmers’ challenges and devise measures to address the crisis.
