Odisha CM Announces ₹1 Lakh Crore Investment for Ganjam District
In a major boost to Odisha’s industrial landscape, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday announced that Ganjam district will receive investments worth ₹1 lakh crore. The ambitious plan is expected to generate employment for over one lakh people, significantly strengthening the region’s economy.
Speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the revered Budhi Thakurani temple in Berhampur, Majhi said the government is committed to fast-tracking development initiatives and creating large-scale job opportunities across the state.
“The investment will pave the way for the establishment of multiple industrial units in Ganjam. Our focus is on inclusive growth, and this move will ensure economic prosperity reaches every household,” Majhi stated.
The Chief Minister did not specify the sectors in which the investments would be made, but sources indicated that a mix of manufacturing, textiles, food processing, and renewable energy projects are likely to be part of the industrial push.
Officials believe that with improved infrastructure and proactive government policies, Ganjam is poised to become a key industrial hub in Odisha. Detailed plans regarding project timelines, participating companies, and investment sectors are expected to be unveiled in the coming weeks.
The announcement has been welcomed by local communities and business leaders, who see it as a transformative moment for the district’s future
