Odisha Assembly Witnesses Uproar Over Women’s Safety

The Odisha Assembly on Wednesday witnessed uproarious scenes for the fourth straight day, with Congress members staging a protest in the well of the House over the issue of women’s safety.

As the Question Hour began at 10.30 am, Congress legislators stormed into the well, raising slogans against the alleged rise in crimes against women across the state.

Carrying placards, the opposition MLAs demanded a special debate on the prevailing law and order situation. The noisy protest forced Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the proceedings for half an hour.
