Odisha, Andhra, Karnataka, and Bengal Triumph in Junior National Men’s Hockey Championship

The fifth day of the Junior National Men’s Hockey Championship witnessed a series of impressive performances as Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Bengal emerged victorious in their respective matches on Friday.

Odisha delivered a commanding performance against Arunachal Pradesh, securing an 8-0 victory. The match saw a spectacular display of skill, with Pratap Toppo and Deepak Pradhan each netting a brace. Toppo scored in the 8th and 54th minutes, while Pradhan contributed in the 37th and 38th minutes. Wison Xaxa (18’), Karan Lakra (23’), Premdayal Giri (32’), and Deonath Nanwar (47’) also added their names to the score sheet, showcasing Odisha’s offensive prowess.

In other matches, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Bengal each recorded wins in their fixtures. Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu also registered full points, while Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand played out a 1-1 draw in the final match of the day, sharing the spoils.
