Naveen Urges BJD to Fight Misinformation

Naveen Patnaik Urges BJD Cadre to Actively Counter False Narratives on Social Media
Biju Janata Dal (BJD) President Naveen Patnaik, re-elected for a record ninth consecutive term, on Saturday urged party workers to be assertive in countering misinformation, especially on social media platforms.
Addressing the party’s State Council Meeting in Bhubaneswar, Patnaik called upon BJD leaders and cadres to embrace technology and boost the party’s digital presence. “Let me be honest in saying that we need to significantly improve our social media presence. Technology should be used to present facts, and without it, we cannot effectively reach the people,” he said.
Reflecting on the previous election results, Patnaik stated, “We narrowly lost the last election even though the BJD received more popular votes. This happened because we couldn’t effectively counter the false narrative.”
Expressing gratitude for being entrusted with the leadership once again, the BJD supremo said, “I have always kept your love in my heart.” He paid tribute to legendary leader Biju Patnaik, reaffirming that the ideals of Biju Babu continue to guide the party’s journey.
Welcoming the elected District Presidents, State Executive Members, and other representatives, Patnaik praised the dedication and spirit of the party’s grassroots workers. “No one should underestimate the organizational strength of the Biju Janata Dal,” he declared.
Highlighting the BJD’s tenure from 2000 to 2024, he described it as a “golden era of Odisha’s development,” asserting that the state had become a model for others through its progressive governance and people-centric policies.
“Our policies and ideals are our strength. Whether in government or not, the BJD has always served the people of Odisha and will continue to do so,” Patnaik said.
Reiterating the party’s commitment to inclusive development, Patnaik emphasized that the empowerment of women, farmers, youth, workers, and tribals will remain at the core of BJD’s mission. He affirmed the party’s dedication to regional development and safeguarding Odisha’s pride and interests.
“Our fight for Odisha’s rights will continue. The pride and interests of Odisha are paramount to us,” he concluded, asserting that the Biju Janata Dal would continue to remain strong in its ideals and unwavering in its commitment to the people.
