CM Majhi Launches ‘Zero Accident Day’ Campaign in Keonjhar

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday launched the ‘Zero Accident Day’ campaign in his home district Keonjhar, with the aim of spreading awareness about road safety and reducing mishaps across Odisha.

The initiative, organised by the Commerce and Transport Department, was simultaneously flagged off in all 13 blocks of Keonjhar district.

Speaking on the occasion, Majhi said road safety is a shared responsibility. “Safety is a collective duty of every individual, it is not just the government’s responsibility,” he stressed, urging people to follow traffic rules and adopt safe driving practices.

The campaign forms part of the state government’s larger mission to make Odisha an accident-free state, through awareness drives, strict enforcement of traffic norms, and community participation.

Officials said awareness rallies, workshops, and community-level programmes will be conducted to sensitize people about traffic discipline and preventive measures.
