Khelo India Beach Games to Make Grand Debut in Diu with Over 1000 Athletes
The Khelo India initiative is set to expand its reach to India’s coastlines with the launch of the inaugural Khelo India Beach Games, starting Monday at the scenic Ghoghla Beach in Diu.
More than 1,000 athletes from across the country will participate in this exciting new sporting event, competing in six medal events and two demonstration sports over six days of intense competition, concluding on Saturday.
The medal events will feature beach soccer, beach volleyball, beach kabaddi, beach sepak takraw, pencak silat, and open water swimming. The games aim to promote sports culture among the youth while showcasing India’s coastal beauty and potential for beach sports.
This first-ever edition of the Khelo India Beach Games marks a significant step in broadening the scope of the country’s national sports movement, encouraging athletes to explore and excel in beach and water-based sports disciplines.
