India Resumes Riyadh Flights Amid Monitoring

Ministry of Civil Aviation said it is closely monitoring the evolving air travel situation in West Asia, as Indian airlines resumed flight operations to Riyadh from March 12 to restore connectivity between India and the Gulf region.

According to the ministry, Indian carriers have restarted services to and from Riyadh, with three flights operated to Mumbai by Air India and IndiGo, and one flight to Kozhikode by Air India Express on the first day of resumed operations.

The ministry said airlines are making necessary operational adjustments to ensure passenger safety and maintain orderly flight operations amid the evolving regional situation.

During the period from February 28 to March 11, a total of 1,50,457 passengers travelled from Gulf countries to India, reflecting the continued movement of travellers despite disruptions in the region.

Indian carriers have also scheduled 57 inbound flights on March 12 from several West Asian cities including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Fujairah, Jeddah, Muscat, Ras Al Khaimah, Riyadh and Sharjah, subject to operational feasibility and prevailing conditions.

The ministry said it is maintaining close coordination with airlines and other stakeholders to ensure smooth passenger movement. It also noted that airfares are being closely monitored to prevent unreasonable price surges during the current period.

Passengers have been advised to remain in touch with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules and travel arrangements as the situation continues to be reviewed.
