Heavy Rainfall Hits Odisha, Over 7,000 Affected in Malkangiri

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha has been battered by heavy rainfall over the past three days due to a depression over the Bay of Bengal. The intense weather conditions have severely impacted several districts, with Malkangiri bearing the brunt.

According to an official statement released on Sunday, more than 7,300 people in Malkangiri district have been affected by the deluge. The rainfall, which began on July 19, has also heavily impacted neighboring districts, including Nabarangpur, Koraput, Khurda, and Nayagarh.

The depression has caused widespread disruptions, with ongoing efforts to provide relief and support to the affected populations. The Odisha government is monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with local agencies to manage the crisis.
