Heat Wave Alert Issued for 56 Mandals Across Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a heat wave alert for 56 mandals across the state for Wednesday, warning residents to take necessary precautions as temperatures are expected to soar.

According to a press release from APSDMA Managing Director R Kurmanadh, 25 mandals have been marked for likely impact, with particularly severe conditions forecasted in Rampachodavaram mandal in Alluri Sitarama Raju district, as well as Polavaram and Velerupadu in Eluru district.

Other affected regions include six mandals in Alluri Sitaramaraju district, five in Eluru, nine in Guntur, and one in East Godavari, among others.

The APSDMA has urged citizens to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, stay hydrated, and follow government advisories. Elderly individuals, children, and outdoor workers are especially vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.

Officials have also advised local administrations to remain vigilant and ensure availability of drinking water and medical assistance in vulnerable areas.

With temperatures continuing to climb, authorities are closely monitoring the situation to mitigate risks and ensure public safety.
