Harshvardhan Rane Exits Sanam Teri Kasam 2

Harshvardhan Rane Declines ‘Sanam Teri Kasam 2’ If Previous Cast Returns

Actor Harshvardhan Rane has announced that he will not be a part of the upcoming sequel to Sanam Teri Kasam if any members of the original cast return — a statement widely seen as a reference to his former co-star, Pakistani actor Mawra Hocane.

The 2016 romantic drama had featured Rane and Hocane in lead roles and garnered a significant fan following. However, tensions have risen following Hocane’s recent criticism of India’s Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory military strike on terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Rane took to social media to issue a statement regarding his stance. “While I am grateful for the experience, however, as things stand, and after reading the direct comments made about my country, I have made a decision to respectfully decline to be a part of Sanam Teri Kasam Part 2 if there is any possibility of the previous cast being repeated,” he wrote.

The actor’s firm position has sparked reactions across social media, with many praising his patriotic stance while others have called for keeping art separate from politics.

There has been no official confirmation from the film’s producers regarding the casting of Sanam Teri Kasam 2 or whether Mawra Hocane was being considered for a role in the sequel.
