Gambhir: India win honors Pahalgam victims
India head coach Gautam Gambhir described the team’s seven-wicket victory over Pakistan as a “good win,” but emphasized that the match was also an opportunity to express solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Speaking to Sony Sports after Sunday night’s match, Gambhir said, “Good win, there’s a lot of cricket left. More importantly, as a team we wanted to show our solidarity towards the victims, all the families and what they’ve gone through in the Pahalgam attack.”
The coach highlighted that while the win was encouraging, the team remains focused on the tournament ahead, stressing the importance of both performance and empathy in the sporting arena.
