Energy Conservation a Responsibility, Says Odisha Deputy CM

Energy conservation is not merely a necessity but a collective responsibility to ensure a sustainable future for the next generation, said Odisha Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo on Saturday.

Speaking at the state-level National Energy Conservation Day observance, Singh Deo, who also holds the energy portfolio, emphasized the need for action beyond formal events.

“Our initiatives in energy conservation should not be limited to seminars and conferences but must translate into our everyday practices,” he said, addressing a gathering of officials, stakeholders, and citizens.

The deputy CM highlighted that energy efficiency and conservation are crucial not only for economic growth but also for environmental sustainability. He urged citizens and industries alike to adopt innovative solutions and practices to minimize energy waste.

The event also featured awards for outstanding contributions to energy conservation in various sectors, reinforcing the state’s commitment to achieving energy efficiency goals.
