Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty Join ‘Border 2’ Cast as Third Schedule Begins

The much-anticipated sequel to the 1997 war blockbuster Border has kicked off its third schedule, with actors Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty joining the star-studded cast that already includes Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is being produced by the original filmmaker JP Dutta, along with Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar of T-Series. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on January 23, 2026, just ahead of Republic Day, promising a patriotic and emotional war drama reminiscent of its predecessor.

Sunny Deol, who played a pivotal role in the original film, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a behind-the-scenes picture featuring the ensemble cast. The photo also included producers Bhushan Kumar, Anurag Singh, Nidhi Dutta, Shiv Chanana, and Binoy Gandhi.

The original Border, based on the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, is considered one of Indian cinema’s most iconic war films. With the sequel, the makers aim to recreate the same spirit and scale for a new generation of viewers.

Fans are already buzzing with excitement over the casting of new-age stars like Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty alongside veterans, raising expectations for a powerful cinematic experience.
