FIFA Lifts Transfer Ban on Mohun Bagan

FIFA Lifts Transfer Ban on Mohun Bagan Super Giant

In a major relief for Mohun Bagan Super Giant, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has lifted the transfer ban imposed on the club, allowing it to resume signing new players ahead of the upcoming football season.

The ban, originally enforced on May 5, stemmed from the club’s failure to settle dues owed to Australian striker Jason Cummings’ former team, Central Coast Mariners. However, the club’s swift compliance and detailed response led to the reversal of the penalty.

According to sources, Mohun Bagan submitted a comprehensive 107-page report addressing the matter and followed up with clarifications to two subsequent queries from FIFA. The governing body, satisfied with the club’s explanation and remedial action, officially revoked the ban on Tuesday.

This development is expected to boost the Kolkata-based club’s preparations for the new season, as they can now actively participate in the ongoing transfer window to strengthen their squad.

Mohun Bagan Super Giant, one of India’s most prestigious football clubs, will now focus on rebuilding and reinforcing its lineup to compete in the upcoming domestic and continental tournaments.
