Devdas Chhotray to be Honoured with Sarala Puraskar for ‘Matinee Show’

Renowned Odia writer Devdas Chhotray has been selected for the 46th Sarala Puraskar for his acclaimed short-story collection ‘Matinee Show’.

Instituted by the charitable wing of Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited, the Indian Metals Public Charitable Trust (IMPaCT), the award is among Odisha’s most prestigious recognitions in literature.

Chhotray will be felicitated at a special ceremony in Bhubaneswar on October 26, where he will receive a citation, a plaque, and a cash award of ₹7 lakh.

The Sarala Puraskar, presented annually since 1979, honours outstanding contributions to Odia literature and has celebrated many of the state’s literary stalwarts.
