Depression Brings Heavy Rain to Odisha

Depression-Induced Rainfall Hits Parts of Odisha
BHUBANESWAR: Heavy rainfall swept through various parts of Odisha on Sunday due to the impact of a depression centered over southern Odisha and northern Andhra Pradesh. The weather system caused significant precipitation across several districts, including Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, and Rayagada.
The depression, moving at a speed of 15 kmph over the past six hours, led to substantial rainfall in these regions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system’s influence was evident as it continued to impact the area, contributing to the heavy showers experienced throughout the day.
Local officials are monitoring the situation closely and assessing the effects of the rainfall, including potential impacts on transportation and infrastructure. The ongoing weather conditions are expected to persist as the depression continues to influence the region.
