Tensions flared in Dharmasala assembly constituency of Odisha’s Jajpur district as a supporter of independent candidate Himanshu Sekhar Sahu, alias Liku, was reportedly injured in an altercation with BJD workers on Monday. The incident unfolded in Pakhar panchayat when clashes erupted over a dispute involving the posting of campaign posters in the village.

According to police reports, the injured supporter was allegedly assaulted by BJD members during the confrontation. The victim, currently receiving treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, underscores the escalating political tensions ahead of the assembly elections in the region.
