BSF Recovers IEDs, Guns from Maoist Camp in Odisha

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday busted a Maoist hideout in Odisha’s Malkangiri district and recovered a cache of arms and explosives, including four Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and three guns, officials said.
The operation was conducted in the Silakota reserve forest area by troops of the BSF’s 2nd battalion, operating under the Company Operating Base (COB) at Podia. During the search, security personnel seized four IEDs, three muzzle-loading guns, detonators, and explosives, dealing a significant blow to the Maoist presence in the region.
Officials said the recovery highlights the ongoing efforts by security forces to curb Maoist activities in Odisha’s remote areas. The explosives were safely defused to prevent any potential threat to civilians and security personnel.
Authorities continue to monitor the region as anti-Naxal operations intensify.
