Ruckus in Odisha Assembly Over Law and Order, House Adjourned Till Noon

The Odisha Assembly witnessed chaos on Friday as legislators from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Congress created an uproar over the state’s law and order situation and alleged mismanagement in paddy procurement. The disruptions forced Speaker Surama Padhy to adjourn the House till noon.

Even before the Speaker could take her seat, opposition members stormed into the well of the House, raising slogans against the ruling BJP government. They accused the government of failing to maintain law and order in the state and mismanaging the procurement process, which has adversely affected farmers.

The protest led to a heated exchange between opposition members and treasury bench legislators, disrupting the proceedings. Despite repeated requests for order, the Speaker had to adjourn the session temporarily.

More updates are expected once the House resumes its session later in the day.
