Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradip corridor to boost growth

Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradip Corridor to Drive Odisha’s Growth: NITI Aayog

The proposed Bhubaneswar-Cuttack-Puri-Paradip Economic Region (BCPPER) is set to play a pivotal role in Odisha’s growth roadmap, aiming for a USD 500 billion economy by 2036 and a USD 1.5 trillion economy by 2047, said NITI Aayog’s Principal Economic Advisor Anna Roy on Tuesday.

Speaking at a stakeholder consultation meeting jointly organised by the Odisha government and NITI Aayog, Roy highlighted the strategic significance of the corridor in accelerating industrialisation, urbanisation, and infrastructure development in the state.

Presenting the draft economic plan of BCPPER, she outlined a comprehensive “growth-hub strategy” that focuses on leveraging the region’s industrial clusters, connectivity networks, and tourism potential.

Roy emphasised that the corridor will not only boost Odisha’s economic ambitions but also strengthen its role in India’s long-term growth story.

Officials noted that the BCPPER project is designed to integrate industrial growth with sustainable development, providing opportunities for employment, investment, and regional balance in eastern India.
