BHEL Bags ₹6,650-Crore NTPC Order for 800-MW Power Unit in Odisha
State-run engineering major Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a significant order worth ₹6,650 crore from NTPC Limited for setting up an 800-MW power unit at the Darlipali Supercritical Thermal Power Project (STPP) Stage-II in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
In a regulatory filing on Friday, BHEL announced that it had received a notification of award from NTPC for the 1×800 MW Darlipali STPP, Stage-II project.
The contract, valued at ₹6,650 crore, covers engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works, including design, engineering, equipment supply, erection, commissioning, and civil works.
BHEL has been a longstanding partner in NTPC’s power generation expansion, having earlier executed several thermal power projects across India. The Darlipali Stage-II project is expected to further enhance power generation capacity in Odisha and contribute to meeting the growing electricity demand in the eastern region.
The company said the new order reinforces its leadership in the thermal power sector and underlines its continued contribution to India’s energy infrastructure development.
