Bhargavastra Boosts India’s Air Defence Strength

Bhargavastra to Strengthen India’s Air Defence, Says Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan
Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday hailed the successful testing of Bhargavastra, an indigenous low-cost counter-drone system, calling it a significant step towards bolstering India’s air defence capabilities.
Addressing the media in Bhubaneswar, Pradhan said that Odisha is proud to host the successful trial of Bhargavastra at the Seaward Firing Range in Gopalpur. The system is expected to significantly enhance the country’s preparedness against aerial threats, particularly in modern warfare scenarios involving drones.
“Bhargavastra is a shining example of India’s growing defence self-reliance and innovation. Its success will further modernize and fortify our air defence architecture,” Pradhan stated.
The Union Minister also took the opportunity to commend Operation Sindoor, a recent anti-terrorist mission conducted by the Indian armed forces. He described it as a bold and decisive operation that exemplified the courage and competence of India’s military forces.
Applauding the mission’s success, Pradhan said, “The Indian Air Force’s strike on nine terrorist targets within Pakistani territory marks a historic moment. The world has witnessed the determination of Indian society, the strength of our armed forces, and the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
He also urged citizens across the country to organize Tricolor Yatras to honor the valour of the armed forces and express solidarity with the Operation Sindoor mission.
“For the first time since independence, the missile threat from Pakistan has been decisively countered by India’s superior defence capabilities,” Pradhan remarked, adding that the nation stands united in its pride and gratitude for the armed forces.
The Union Minister concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening national security through indigenous innovation and strong leadership.
