Delhi Blast: FIR Lodged Under UAPA, Pulwama Doctor Suspect; Amit Shah to Chair High-Level Review Meet
Terror link suspected as Delhi Police conducts multiple raids after Red Fort explosion

The Delhi Police on Tuesday registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with the blast near the Red Fort that killed nine people and injured 20 others on Monday evening. Preliminary investigations have indicated a possible link to a terror module recently uncovered in Faridabad, officials said.

According to sources, the car used in the explosion was being driven by a doctor from Pulwama, raising suspicions of a broader terror network at play. The police have conducted raids across multiple locations in the national capital and nearby regions as part of the probe.

In response to the incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to chair a high-level security review meeting at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. The meeting will be attended by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha, and NIA Director-General Sadanand Vasant Date.

Officials said all central and state intelligence agencies are working in coordination to trace the source of the explosive materials and identify those behind the attack. Security has been tightened across key locations in the city, including India Gate, Parliament complex, airports, and major transport hubs.

The blast, which occurred near the Red Fort — one of Delhi’s most visited heritage sites — has sparked concerns over renewed terror activity in the capital. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage and forensic evidence collected from the site.

The government is expected to issue an official statement after the review meeting later today.
