All States, UTs Onboard Ayushman Bharat Scheme Except West Bengal: Nadda

Union Health Minister J P Nadda informed the Lok Sabha on Friday that all states and Union Territories, except West Bengal, have been onboarded for the Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) as of March 26.

Since its launch, the scheme has facilitated over 8.9 crore hospital admissions, amounting to ₹1.26 lakh crore in medical expenses until March 1, 2025, Nadda stated.

Responding to a query, he also shared that as of March 20, more than 10.21 lakh Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs), 14.47 lakh Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), and 14.76 lakh Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) have received Ayushman cards under the scheme.

The AB-PMJAY initiative aims to provide cashless health coverage to economically weaker sections, ensuring accessible healthcare for millions across India.
