Odisha Gets ₹155 Crore Digital Incentive

Odisha to Receive ₹155 Crore Central Incentive for Digital Agriculture Initiatives
Odisha is set to receive incentives worth ₹155 crore from the Centre for the successful implementation of the digital crop survey and farmers’ registry, officials said on Saturday.
The Union government has formally assessed and approved the state’s proposals under the Special Central Assistance (SCA), declaring Odisha eligible for incentives for both components of AgriStack, a digital public infrastructure initiative for agriculture.
According to officials, the Centre will provide ₹100 crore as an incentive for the successful implementation of the Digital Crop Survey (DCS), while ₹55.48 crore will be released for achieving the first milestone of the Farmers’ Registry (FR).
The initiatives aim to create a comprehensive and accurate digital database of crops and farmers, which is expected to improve targeting of agricultural schemes, enhance transparency, and enable better planning and delivery of services to farmers.
Officials said the incentives recognise Odisha’s progress in adopting digital tools in agriculture and will further strengthen the state’s efforts to modernise farm management and governance.
