Odisha Adopts ‘No Gift’ Policy for Festive Season: Deputy CM Pravati Parida

Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Friday announced that the state government has adopted the Centre’s ‘No Gift Policy’ during the ongoing festive season, urging citizens and officials to refrain from exchanging gifts.

Taking to social media, Parida said the initiative aligns with the Government of India’s commitment to transparency and ethical governance. “During the festive season, based on the Government of India’s ‘No Gift Policy,’ the state government has also adopted a similar policy. According to it, no government office or public sector undertaking will engage in the exchange of gifts or incur related expenses,” she stated.

The Deputy Chief Minister further appealed to the public not to bring any gifts to her office, underscoring that the move is aimed at promoting integrity in public service and reducing the influence of informal exchanges in official matters.

The decision comes as part of a broader effort by the Odisha government to strengthen ethical standards in administration and ensure public accountability during festive celebrations.
